The Bible Study Groups at First UMC Elgin offer welcoming, engaging spaces to explore Scripture, ask honest questions, and deepen your relationship with God. Running throughout the year, these small group studies explore a wide variety of topics—from in-depth book-by-book studies to practical, life-application series designed to help you live out your faith every day.

Whether you prefer gathering face-to-face over coffee or joining a virtual discussion from home, our groups center on growing in the Word, building meaningful friendships, and supporting one another in a caring community.

WHEN & WHERE WE MEET

We offer flexible options throughout the week so you can easily connect in the way that best fits your schedule:

• Sunday Mornings: Directly following our 10:00 AM worship service in person at the church.
• Wednesday Evenings: Offered in a hybrid format—join us in person at the church or connect remotely via Google Meet.

WHAT WE STUDY

Our groups cover dynamic, thought-provoking materials that challenge us to live like Jesus. Past studies have included:

• Love Does & Everybody Always by Bob Goff (exploring radical love and action)
• Contagious Faith (learning to share God’s love naturally)
• The Politics of Jesus (examining Jesus' teachings on justice, kingdom values, and culture)
